FREE Home Sustainability Assessments
ecoSAVVY has a contract with the Australian Government to provide FREE Home Sustainability Assessments to householders via the Green Loans Program. FREE Home Sustainability Assessments are available to homeowners, landlords and tenants.
The assessment is quite comprehensive and takes approximately 2 hours. It gives you the opportunity to have an accredited home sustainability assessor visit your home and help you to identify where you are using electricity and water, how to reduce your electricity bills and how to make your home more comfortable in our tropical climate (with less reliance on airconditioning).
Having an assessment is a fantastic opportunity to get specific tips from a sustainability specialist relevant to your home and lifestyle practices. It is also an opportunity to ask about other rebates, programs and sustainability initiatives that may be available to you.
The data collected during the assessment is entered into a computer model which generates a report that gives you an indication of how your home performs on energy, greenhouse gas emissions and water, against others nationally, a list of tips relevant to the data entered for your home and also a list of items that you are able to use the green loan for.
Completing the assessment step gives householders the opportunity to access an interest free green loan to the value of $10,000 to use to improve the sustainability performance of their home. The loan is interest free for 4 years.
Typical items that households are eligible to use their Green Loan for are solar panels to produce electricity that can then be sold back into the grid, solar hot water systems, insulation and more.
